Residential Cook

The Alberta Seventh Step Society has an immediate opening for a Residential Cook at our Calgary Halfway House.  Duties include basic meal preparation in accordance to Canada's Food Guide for up 37 residents, kitchen cleaning, menu planning, and maintaining inventory.  Must be fluent in English, have a current Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate or the equivalent, and be willing to provide an up to date criminal record check.  This is a temporary full time opportunity with the potential to become permanent.  A complete job description is available upon request.

Caseworker

The Alberta Seventh Step Society is a not for profit, self help agency working with adults involved with the criminal justice system. We have an immediate opening for a full time Caseworker at our Halfway House in Calgary. Duties include implementing caseplans, completion of necessary documentation, and ongoing interaction with residents and stakeholders. Availability for a variety of day and evening shifts is required. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review our seven step practice model prior to an interview. Eligibility for security clearance according to Federal standards is essential. Part-time Community Residential Facility Worker

We have an opening for part-time staff to work in our Community Residential Facility. Shifts include days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
Strong communication skills and knowledge of the self-help process are definite assets. Duties include light housekeeping responsibilities and ongoing contact with residents.
Eligibility for security clearance with Corrections Canada is essential.

Volunteers with life experience needed to assist in a self help group consisting of offenders in prison and the community, parolees, and non offenders. We invite you to help others think realistically. A background check is required.
